Invitation: Cloud computing in Chile: security and legal aspects in the cloud
Here is the invitation to the second of the cloud computing panels we are organizing with the DCC (the Computer Science Department) of the Universidad de Chile.
This Friday the 13th at 12 noon in the DCC Auditorium, third floor, Avenida Blanco Encalada 2120, Third Floor, Santiago/Chile.
The Computer Science Department of the Universidad de Chile and its alumni community, with the support of INTEL, invite you to take part in the second discussion panel
Cloud Computing in Chile: security and legal aspects in the Cloud
What are the most critical points in technology security
for Cloud services?
What solutions and safeguards do the offerings of local
providers include? What responsibilities do companies take on,
legally, regarding technology security when they contract
Cloud Computing services? What has the experience been, in this
area, with the implementation of cloud services at the
organizations that have developed this kind of solution? What
security aspects should we look at before starting a project to
adopt Cloud?
These are some of the topics that will be reviewed with the guests at the discussion table.
In 1969 Leonard Kleinrock, one of the chief scientists of ARPANET, the project that gave rise to the Internet, said: "As of now, computer networks are still in their infancy, but as they grow up and become more sophisticated, we will probably see the spread of 'computer utilities' which, like present electric and telephone utilities, will serve individual homes and offices across the country".
This vision of computing services, based on a service provisioning model, foresees the massive transformation of the entire computing industry, through which computing services will be available on demand, like water, electricity, gas and telephone services in today’s society.
Within the framework of this challenge, this second discussion panel is being held to review the security and legal aspects of the cloud services option in light of the reality in Chile.
**The panel will feature 3 distinguished speakers : * _1. *José Francisco de la Maza, Computer Engineer with more than 25 years of experience in IT, and as an advisor to Mcafee Chile’s Enterprise customers on Information Security._
2.-**Lorena Donoso, **Lawyer. Professor at the Law School of the Universidad de Chile and board member of the Instituto Chileno de Derecho y Tecnologías ICDT.
3.-Alejandro Hevia, Faculty member, Computer Science Department, Universidad de Chile, and Director of CLCERT. (moderator)
