Personal motivation

A traveler came upon three men working in a quarry, breaking stones. He walked up to the first one and asked:

– Excuse me, my good man, what are you doing?

– Can’t you see? I break stones. I have to earn my day’s pay.

Then he walked up to the second man and asked:

– Excuse me, what are you doing?

– Easy. I’m cutting stone to build a beautiful, solid wall.

And finally he walked up to the third man and asked:

– Hey, sorry to ask, but what are you doing?

– Me? I build cathedrals.
