Uruguay, Uruguay

The level of realism is impressive. They could perfectly well make a very good science fiction movie, one of those blockbusters with giant robots and explosions.

Yes, there may be companies in Chile capable of making similar videos, but I have never seen them. In advertising there are some interesting things, but I would like to see a Chilean ad company make a video like this one, just for the pleasure of doing it, and leave me with my jaw on the floor. But I don’t know if that is going to happen.

“That’s really easy, we can do it too” is the typical answer of the mediocre. “Do it, prove it, words are worth nothing” is what we should answer them.

As in the case of the OLPC, where once again Uruguay shows us that more than speeches, digital agendas or delegations, what matters is getting things done, with the CEIBAL project, which has already delivered laptops to more than 300,000 children, while here we carry on with the same passive, fault-finding or contemptuous attitude (like that of the director of Enlaces, Chile’s school technology program), waiting for the study that confirms that what these Uruguayans are doing is nonsense.

Action is always preferable to the speeches of the experts.
