Forgive them, for they know not what they do...

Apparently the line from the Gospel of Luke 23:34, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do”, is a liberal invention, and American conservatives have decided to fix this by removing this kind of liberal phrase from the Bible: the Conservative Bible project.

The whole thing is insane. For example, it seems the current translations of the gospels are riddled with socialist terms:

For example, the conservative term “volunteer” is mentioned only once in the ESV (English Standard Version), yet the socialist word “comrade” is used three times, “laborer(s)” is used 13 times, “labored” 15 times, and “fellow” (as in “fellow worker”) is used 55 times.

All of it done arbitrarily, without even consulting the texts in their original sources, but working from theKing James version! And so ignorance keeps perpetuating itself…
