Blogging with your feet

An interesting reflection from Enrique Dans:

“You don’t blog with your head, you blog with your feet”

“I don’t mean, obviously, that you should type with your lower limbs - you’d leave the keyboard in a sorry state - but that a blog cannot be built on how much its author knows, has in his head and decides to share on a web page. That, however vast and broad the knowledge, runs out in a short time, and you start sliding into the dynamic of “what the hell do I write about today?”, into “writing out of obligation” and into seeing it as an uncomfortable burden, feelings that are invariably the prelude to a blog’s death by starvation. You blog with your feet, with what you walk through every day, with the news and sites you go over, with the experiences you live through. That “diary” component is fundamental, and inherent to the original nature of blogging. And you link, of course, to everything that helped give you the inspiration.”

Well, what I just did isn’t blogging with my feet, it’s blogging with my feet up ;)
