Justice

More than a year ago I told you about the violent robbery my daughter’s class went through. At a camp near Valparaíso, 60 teenagers plus a few adults were robbed: the ninth-grade students and their teachers.

It turns out the robbers were arrested, and I can tell you they have been convicted, with sentences of between 13 and 15 years in prison. We are used to reading about the blunders of our judicial system, but in our case justice was done. All I can say is that we parents were committed from the very first moment, and the school backed the prosecutors’ work by bringing in a lawyer as a private complainant, which made the case stronger.

It’s good to point it out when things work and when justice is done. There are many people who do their jobs well, and they deserve to be recognized.
