The first Chilean web entrepreneur

“When King Arthur’s knights decided to set out in search of the Holy Grail, they gathered at the edge of the forest and agreed to enter through those places that had no marked path; the bravest chose the thickest, darkest spot as their starting point.” Safe, well-traveled roads offer no challenges, and it is challenges that make you grow, create, innovate.
“The Chalice was never found, but for centuries people spoke of the
feats of King Arthur’s knights in their quest”
If you fail in your venture, better that your failure be a magnificent one!
Wenukura
December 4 was the birthday of a friend and entrepreneur: Pepe Flores (known as Wenukura).
Pepe was the first person to put a website on the air in Chile, and the founder of the first Chilean web development company. He has led famous projects, from the first (and best) La Tercera newspaper site to the Regata Web contest, although the project I like most is La Aurora de Chile Digital. He currently runs Newtenberg.
On the site of Levtraru, his most important social-business venture, Pepe writes:
“We have set ourselves high goals, perhaps utopian ones, because we
believe that gives meaning to our existence. Building new companies
is a vehicle for generating well-being, and that is why we have chosen
it as our way of changing the world.”
Here is an example of what it means to be a knight errant in search of
the Holy Grail: what matters is that by making the journey the world
changes a little, with the hope that it’s for the better (although that is impossible).
Congratulations, Pepe. I think you deserve more tributes than this simple post, because without you, and several others like you, this blog probably wouldn’t exist, and neither would much of what’s on the Chilean web.
