Sharing is good
I liked the short write-up at ameba. Above all the idea that blogmemes is a blog of blogs. (Although right now it looks like a video blog).
More and more I see it as a group blog rather than a social bookmarking site. There are two reasons to see it that way. The system is designed to promote debate, not childish bickering. And second, the system lets you write your own texts, and there are no limits on content. There’s no censorship either, although as administrator I’ve had to delete a few memes for being inappropriate.
But now I’ve added more features typical of a blog than of a social bookmarking site: you can share by email, or add to del.icio.us, meneame, fresqui, and neodiario. There are a few small glitches with some of these, but fortunately their developers are glad to help.
The future of comments
But I’ve also changed the profile, so that you can see the votes and comments submitted by each user. Because the next step is to promote debate and comments.
To that end we’re going to add the option of receiving by email the comments on the memes you’ve posted, and of following a discussion topic. I think what matters most is that the community takes part, and I hope you like these changes.
To those waiting for the code, I ask for a little patience: we’ll release it toward the end of this week, since there’s still a lot to debug. To the users, I ask for patience with any inconvenience you may run into while we roll out these changes.
Greetings to all.
