Blog memes

This is a new project we’ve started at AmericaEscribe. For those who don’t know, AmericaEscribe is an aggregator of Latin American blogs. For now, that project’s sources are hand-picked at the discretion of a group of volunteer editors.

However, to make things more democratic, and because a good social bookmarking site in Spanish is badly needed, we’ve created BlogMemes.com, a clone of the famous Digg.com, but aimed at a more general scope.

We invite you to contribute the stories that interest you. To avoid spam, the site requires you to register first.

If you’re a PHP or JavaScript programmer and you’re interested in taking part in the project, get in touch at admin@americaescribe.org, because you can help us.

A meme is a unit of cultural transmission, according to Dawkins, who wrote about this in his famous book The Selfish Gene. To learn more about memes, see the Wikipedia article.
