Good experiences with Nuestro PC

In mission accomplished, Francotirador tells, with understandable emotion, how Marcelo is weighing the purchase of a computer from the Nuestro PC plan.

What I like most about this campaign is the name, **Nuestro **PC (“Our PC”), an altruistic, communal name. Contrast it with the name of the other campaign, Mi Primer PC (“My First PC”), which sounds more selfish and aspirational.

I hadn’t read about the subject in a while, but it must be a source of pride for the guys who rallied behind the campaign to read mentions like the one published in La Segunda. Interestingly, according to the story, many users are going for the advanced version.

Consider Nuestro PC for Christmas

If you’re about to buy a new PC, or if you’re a parent who wants to give your kids a PC this Christmas, then take a look at Nuestro PC; the program includes financing and internet access.

In fact, it would be great to give this campaign a push on our blogs by promoting it for Christmas. (A job for our design superhero Huasonic?)

Smart mobs and the redistribution of wealth

Other things I like about this campaign: it lets people get decent credit to buy a PC, small and medium-sized businesses take part in it, and it started with citizens.

In these times when people talk about the concentration of wealth and the lack of redistribution, politicians should learn from this case. The government, as some have charged, with the Mi Primer PC campaign simply kept up that pact it has with the economic power groups; the usual suspects came out ahead on that deal.

When citizens organize they can deliver concrete solutions that help solve these issues, the ones that get talked about a lot while little gets done. This campaign, driven by enthusiastic young people, showed that we can generate wealth for small and medium-sized businesses, and for ordinary people, who with better computers will be able to narrow the digital divide.

Beautiful, the power of SmartMobs….

Congratulations to Cristian Labarca, to Christian Leal, and to Carlos, and to the others I don’t know who took part in this great initiative.

See, Christian, that [it wasn’t a failure](c?
