Google sued by American publishers
The Association of American Publishers (AAP) announced today a lawsuit against Google over its plan to copy and distribute copyrighted works without their owners’ permission. The suit seeks a court declaration that Google is in the wrong when it scans copyright-protected books, and that copyright owners must authorize Google to do so.
The suit was filed by the biggest American publishers: The McGraw-Hill Companies, Pearson Education, Penguin Group (USA), Simon & Schuster and John Wiley & Sons. .
