My first PC

You know what we’re going to do tonight, Pinky ...?
Well, a picture is worth a thousand words...
The Chilean government has launched a campaign called Mi Primer PC (My First PC).
The project is described at this link:

There are so many criticisms to be made, but this article in La Nación has put them quite well.
(Thanks again to Cazuela de Pinguino for the source of the La Nación article)
The winners are not the users, nor the small business owners.
They are the big retail chains, which get rid of inventory and place new credit. Microsoft too, because it places its software, not just the OS but even Encarta, and the ISPs that get the contract.
Is this narrowing the digital divide?
Does the government know that the PC is already obsolete and on its way to extinction?
What does a donkey know about honey, I say.
In any case, the collaboration between Ricardo Froilán (President Lagos) and Bill Gates goes back a long way: http://www.gatesfoundation.org/Libraries/InternationalLibraryInitiatives/Announcements/Announce-323_SpanishVersion.htm
